111 MLAs at meeting convened by Tamil Nadu chief minister
Unanimous resolution to abide by Edappadi K Palaniswami's decisions
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) 111 MLAs attended a legislators meeting convened by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday, amid calls for a floor test in the Assembly, according to media reports.
The legislators passed a unanimous resolution at the meeting stating that all the supporting legislators will abide by decisions taken by Palaniswami. State Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar said: “111 MLAs attended the meet. One is not well but has extended support; three from our alliance also support us. One of them is the speaker. Nine MLAs from other group were contacted on phone and they extended support, so we are in majority.”
Recently, 19 rebel MLAs who had switched to “ousted” leader TTV Dinakaran’s camp submitted a letter to Governor Vidyasagar Rao asking that Palaniswami be removed.
