More than 7,000 jobs are expected to be on offer when new plastic manufacturing park in Abu Dhabi opens
More than 7,000 manufacturing jobs are expected to be on offer at a new park manufacturing plastic in Abu Dhabi.
On Sunday, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) launched a Polymers Park, which aims to be a manufacturing base for the downstream plastics industry, Gulf News reported.
Samir Chaturvedi, chief executive officer of Kizad, said the park is set to produce 300-400 kilotonnes of plastic products that range from daily use items to vehicle parts and will open up 7,000 new jobs.
“What we are trying to do is bring manufacturing capability inside the UAE [United Arab Emirates] so we can make the final product here and retain the value creation inside the UAE and export the finished product,” Chaturvedi said.
The park is expected to generate US$1.5 billion in foreign direct investment in the next four to five years as polymers become one of the fastest growing segments globally.
Aside from manufacturing jobs, the National Ambulance Company in Abu Dhabi is looking to hire qualified Filipino emergency medical technicians.
There are around two million Filipinos working in the UAE as there are many job opportunities in the country.
