Acid attack victim dials wrong number and connects with love
Bride said she fell for her new husband after calling him by mistake
Dialing the wrong telephone number led to wedding bells for acid attack victim Lalita Ben Bansi.
The 26-year-old from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh got married to Ravi Shankar, 27, on Tuesday at the Thane courthouse.
Lalita and Ravi became acquainted when she dialed the wrong number by mistake and they started chatting. They got to know each other over the next two months and decided to get married.
She said, “Who would have thought an acid attack and 17 surgeries later I would find love. But it happened. And it all started with a wrong number.”
A relative threw acid at Lalita during an argument in 2012. Her entire face was badly burnt and she has since undergone numerous operations. Her treatment will resume after the honeymoon.
