Amazon finally ready for SE Asia launch
Arrival in Singapore could come as early as this week
A source with knowledge of the plans has said that Amazon’s long-anticipated Southeast Asia launch is imminent, reports TechCrunch.
The US e-commerce giant was forced to delay its launch, initially planned for the first quarter of this year, and has been quiet on plans as competitor Alibaba continues to expand in the region.
Southeast Asia’s e-commerce market is expected to grow from US$5.5 billion in 2015 to US$87.8 billion by 2025, according to a report form Google and Temasek.
