Brexit UK experiences brain-drain wave
British employers set to get hit by exodus of talent
You get what you ask for. Highly skilled workers who have gained work experience in the UK are now relocating back to continental Europe, after British voters decided last year that they didn’t want the competition from foreign job seekers.
The UK’s Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that loss of access to skilled European workers is actually the biggest Brexit-related challenge facing British firms.
While the United Kingdom is not hemorrhaging its own talent as is the case in many parts of Southern Europe and Eastern Europe, they will no longer see the same level of benefit from Europe’s internal migration that Germany continues to see.
