Bundesbank: German economic outlook brighter on jobs data revisions, manufacturing sentiment

Monthly report finds 2016 data understated positive economic trends

March 20, 2017 8:08 PM (UTC+8)

Carolynn Look reports for Bloomberg that Bundesbank sees further improved German economic outlook on revised 2016 numbers. GDP data for the third and fourth quarter of 2016 may have understated positive trends, after a significant upward revision in job-market numbers from last year. Seasonal downturns in construction at the end of 2016 rebounded this year, and manufacturing sentiment has improved.
