Car crashes through gate in Hong Kong as driver forgets parking brake
The car came to a stop in a private property, no one was injured.
A 46-year-old driver forgot to apply the parking brake on his car that crashed through a gate into a private property in Stanley, Hong Kong island, after careening driverless down a road.
At 9:42am on Tuesday, a man surnamed Kwok stopped his Toyota Alphard 7-seat car on a slope at Horizon Drive in Chung Hom Kok, Apple Daily reported.
He left the car and was then shocked to see it running backwards down the slope, according to a netizen who took a video with his car cam and uploaded it to the social media.
He chased the car and tried but failed to open the door. The car continued another 120 meters and crashed through a gate into Horizon Lodge. Fortunately, no one was injured, Sing Tao Daily reported.
Some netizens said Kwok might have to compensate for the damage.
