If you believe the critics of Chinese endeavors in Africa, you probably imagine resentful locals who feel that China is exploiting local resources while foregoing local labor for Chinese workers.

But, as the Financial Times writes, locals in the Kenyan town of Makindu are excited about what China is doing in the country.
