A domestic worker in Dubai has been accused by her female employer of practicing witchcraft.
The Arab woman alleges that her domestic worker has been collecting strands of hair from her and her daughter and pieces of clothing to cast a spell on the family, Khaleej Times reported.
The employer also accused the domestic worker of hiding a mobile phone containing photos of the family and of sharing photos and information about the family with her husband.
The female employer filed a complaint with Dubai Police and said that the domestic worker also hid valuable items, including a watch worth 25,000 dirhams (US$6,807), 8,000 dirhams in cash and jewelry worth 9,000 dirhams .
During police interrogation, the domestic worker admitted that she stole 6,000 dirhams two months ago and transferred the money to her family back home. However, she denied her employer’s allegations that she practiced sorcery.
