A 36-year-old Filipino engineer was jailed for four months on Monday after he was found guilty in a Singapore court after trying to take footage up the skirt of a woman at an MRT station and being in possession of 38 similar videos.

Jan Benedict Mendoza Fuellas, who held an S Pass allowing him to work in the city state, had earlier pleaded guilty to to one count of trying to intrude into the privacy of a 26-year-old woman at Bukit Panjang MRT station, and seven charges of intruding into the privacy of unknown women at various MRT stations last August, The Straits Times reported.

At 7:20pm on August 19, 2016, a 24-year-old Singaporean saw Jan Benedict Mendoza Fuellas taking video of the legs of a 26-year-old woman wearing an orange skirt with his mobile phone on an escalator at Bukit Panjang MRT station, Chinese-language newspaper Lianhe Wanbao said.

The Singaporean man and the woman subdued Fuellas and reported the case to MRT staff, who called the police.

The police found a total of 38 upskirt videos of women taken at various MRT stations, including Changi Airport, Tanah Merah, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang MRT stations, between August 1 and 19 in Fuellas’ phone. The encrypted videos could only be seen with Fuellas’ password.

The Straits Times said the judge also considered 31 counts of intruding into the privacy of women in sentencing.
