Family calls for probe after civil servant dies on birthday
Foul play suspected after 36-year-old's body found on roadside in Lucknow
A Karnataka Indian Administrative Services officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances on his 36th birthday in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow.
Anurag Tiwari’s family suspects ”foul play” and have demanded a thorough probe into the matter, according to Z News.
The Hindustan Times quoted Lucknow Inspector General of Police JN Singh as saying that an initial medical examination indicated that Tiwari died of a heart attack on Wednesday. However, he said a team of experts from Lucknow’s State Forensic Science Laboratory would examine the officer’s body to determine the exact cause of death.
Tiwari, who was from Uttar Pradesh’s Baharaich district, had gone for a morning walk and his body was later found lying on a roadside a few meters from his guest house. According to police sources, he had arrived in the state capital from Mussorie after undergoing training to serve as the Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies in Karnataka. He had been staying at the city’s Meerabai Guest House in the city for two days.

Sources said Tiwari may have died from ”traumatic injuries” suffered around the time of his heart attack, either resulting from a fall or being hit by a speeding vehicle.
