In a Facebook post on Sunday, Mark Jane J. Nuada pleaded to be rescued from employers she claims have physically abused her
A Filipina domestic worker who claims to have been abused by her employer in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, says she was not given help by her employment agency.
On Sunday, a Facebook post written by Mary Jane J. Nuada went viral. In it, she pleaded to be rescued from employers who she says have physically abused her.
Nuada said her employers kick and throw things at her. Photos show her with bruises on her arms and legs.
Nuada added that she had sought help from her employment agency, the Fawaris Alaamal Recruitment Office, but that it had not helped her.
She said the agency did not believe her complaint and asked her to prove that she was being abused. The agency also told her that she would have to pay her employer PHP25,000 (US$480) to be allowed to leave.
