Filipina tourist pleads guilty over bar fight in Wan Chai
The defendant admitted she was not able to control herself because she was drunk at the time of the incident
A 45-year-old female tourist from the Philippines pleaded guilty to assaulting another Filipina in a bar in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island on Thursday.
In the 3am altercation, Emily RP, a beauty salon owner from the Philippines, scratched the face of Mihira RP inside the Neptune III Disco at 54-62 Lockhart Road in Wan Chai, hongkongnews.com reported.
The incident happened when a man and a woman arrived at the disco and the woman kissed Mihira RP, the prosecutor told the court.
Mihira RP allegedly made a joke about the kiss and this infuriated Emily RP, who felt insulted and scratched the left side of Mihira RP’s face.
Police were called and sent Mihira RP to Ruttonjee Hospital and arrested Emily RP and charged her with assault occasioning actual bodily harm
She pleaded guilty at the Eastern Magistrates’ Court on Friday. She admitted she was not able to control herself because she was drunk at the time of the incident.
Magistrate Peter Law sentenced her to one week in jail but suspended it for 12 months.
