Filipino accused of indecently assaulting teenage boys
Police say the factory worker told them that one of the alleged victims did not show any resistance to the sex act
A 34-year-old Filipino factory worker was arrested after allegedly indecently or sexually assaulting two under-age boys on two occasions last month.
The suspect has worked in a factory in Nanzih district of Kaohsiung City for three years, Taiwan Apple Daily reported.
On January 5, the suspect allegedly met a 14-year-old boy by chance, and hugged and touched him in the street. He even allegedly invited the boy to go home with him, startling the teenager, who ran away and sought help from his tutorial-school teachers and then his parents.
Then, on January 17, police received a report of a foreign man performing oral sex on a 17-year-old boy, who was reportedly mentally challenged, at a road junction in Qianzhen district of Kaohsiung.
By January 22, police had tracked down the suspect, who was residing in a workers’ hostel in the district’s export-processing zone.
Learning that the suspect had visited the Kaohsiung Extension Office of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office to make arrangements to return home to the Philippines, Kaohsiung police placed him under arrest with the help of his employment agency on January 23.
Police say the Filipino told them that the 17-year-old victim did not show any resistance to the alleged sex act.
According to the preliminary police investigation, the suspect may have been responsible for other similar cases.
