Filipino-American arrested for attempted murder in Idaho
The suspect, who is a lawyer, is accused of shooting an elderly couple because of a dispute over money
A Filipino-American lawyer, accused of shooting and seriously wounding an elderly couple, has been arrested in Jerome, Idaho, in the United States.
At 11:36am on March 7, Paul Mendoza Allen, 34, was arrested by the Idaho state police and charged with the attempted murder of an elderly couple who were previously his clients, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
Allen was accused of shooting the couple multiple times on March 6 in their home. The victims were reportedly in their 70s and 80s. Police said the motive for the shooting could have been a dispute over money.
Pauline Catibayan, Allen’s wife who was with him when police detained him, was also arrested. The elderly couple were taken to hospital after the shooting and are both in a critical condition.
Allen and Catibayan are detained in Jerome County Jail.
