Filipino comedian urges govt to probe sister’s death in Kuwait
Mirafe Librada, a domestic worker in Kuwait, is alleged to have committed suicide shortly after claiming she was abused by her employer
Filipino comedian Romeo Librada, known as Super Tekla, is urging the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait to investigate his sister’s apparent suicide.
On December 29, Marife Librada, a domestic worker who arrived in Kuwait in February 2017, was said to have committed suicide after she was found hanging in her room, GMA News reported.
On Tuesday, Romeo Librada uploaded a video on Facebook appealing to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait to investigate the death of his sister.
He said her death came days after she told her family she was being abused her by her employer.
“I hope the embassy will investigate my sister’s case to find out if she indeed committed suicide or she was killed,” Librada said.
Vice Consul Charleson Hermosura said the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait was already investigating Marife Librada’s death and assured that it would help the Librada family at this time, ABS-CBN News reported.
“We promise to do all that we can to resolve the case and assist the family during this difficult time,” he said.
