Food vendor booked for ‘filming female worker in restroom’
Police say suspect deleted alleged video before they arrived at scene
A food vendor at a software firm in Bangalore was arrested on Sunday for allegedly trying to film a female employee while she was using the restroom.
Paramesh, 25, was booked after a complaint from a 27-year-old techie, who told police she spotted him trying to film her when she entered the restroom.
She was quoted as saying, “I entered the bathroom on the fourth floor and noticed that the accused, Paramesh, was trying to shoot a video by keeping his mobile in a small gap. He ran away after I screamed. I immediately rushed out and caught him with the help of my colleagues.”
However, the accused allegedly deleted the video from his phone before the police arrived. An investigating officer was quoted as saying, “We are sure he’d have committed the same offense before. We have asked cyber-crime police to retrieve the videos.”
