France announces deal to sell Airbus A400M to Indonesia
Indonesia would be the second export customer for the military aircraft following Malaysia
The office of French President Francois Hollande said Wednesday that Indonesia has signed a letter of intent to buy the Airbus A400M military aircraft, a boost to the program which has run into billions of euros of cost overruns, reports Reuters.
During President Hollande’s visit to Indonesia on Wednesday, France also pledged US$2.6 billion in investments for the country.
The visit is the last of Hollande’s Southeast Asian tour, which included visits to Singapore and Malaysia.
