Global stocks up on Japan, China manufacturing data
US manufacturing data expected later Monday in advance of holiday on Tuesday
The Stoxx Europe 600 was up 0.72% by Monday afternoon, with S&P futures also edging up 0.42% before the trading day. US markets will close early Tuesday ahead of the Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday.
The Nikkei and Shanghai Composite were both up 0.11%, followed by the Hang Seng (+0.08%), after the release of positive manufacturing data from the China and Japan. US manufacturing data is expected later on Monday.
Australian banks, along with utilities and property trusts, pulled the ASX 200 down 0.65%.
