Health care facilities top performers of S&P this morning

Whether US bill passes or not, Americans will be spending more

March 24, 2017 11:40 PM (UTC+8)

Health Care Facilities are the day’s top performing sub-sector of the S&P 500, up 2.55% at 11:00 a.m.

After President Trump’s threat to leave Obamacare in place if the House doesn’t vote up his repeal-and-replace legislation, investors figure that Americans will spend a lot on health care.

Either they will spend a lot under the existing law, or a lot under the replacement law. The other option, a reduction of overall health care spending favored by dissident conservative Republicans, isn’t on the table.
