HK 9-year-old advances to semis of America’s Got Talent
Celine Tam expressed her thanks to her supporters on Facebook and said: 'I will keep it up and never give up'
Members of the American public sent a nine-year-old Hong Kong girl to the semifinals of America’s Got Talent on Wednesday night. Celine Tam Tsz-kwan won the hearts of viewers singing “When You Believe” from Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey on the TV talent show on Tuesday night.
The public loved her quarter-finals performance despite one of the judges, singer-songwriter Mel B, calling the song “too big” for Celine.
When Celine heard the result onstage, she covered her face with her hands in excitement. She told host Tyra Banks: “I am feeling very great.”
Celine expressed her thanks to her supporters on Facebook, saying she will try her best to do even better. “I will keep it up and never give up.”
Celine will compete with 20 other performers, including 10-year-old singer Angelica Hale and 12-year-old robot dancer Merrick Hanna, on September 5 and 6, Apple Daily reported.
