Police arrested two Hongkongers after they were caught with 8.8kg of cannabis buds with a street value of HK$1.45 million (US$186,000) in Kwun Tong in East Kowloon on Thursday.

At noon, a 28-year-old surnamed Cheung and 32-year-old surnamed Shum were intercepted in a Narcotics Bureau operation outside an industrial building on 205 Wai Yip Street, Sing Pao reported.

The police found the cannabis in the two men’s trolley and arrested them on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale.

Police suspect an industrial flat in the district was being used for drug storage, Ming Pao reported.
