Indonesian maid arrested over alleged child abuse
The three-year-old's father was surprised to discover his son's hand was red and suspecting it was caused by the domestic worker, called police
A 39-year-old Indonesian maid was arrested on Thursday for allegedly abusing a boy in her care in Tsuen Wan in the New Territories.
The 39-year-old father of the three-year-old boy filed a report with police saying he suspected his domestic worker had abused his son in an apartment at private housing estate The Cairnhill in Tsuen Wan, Oriental Daily reported.
The man said he was surprised to discover redness on his son’s hand and suspected it was caused by the domestic worker. Police arrived and called paramedics, who took the boy to Yan Chai Hospital for an examination.
After an initial investigation, officers arrested the domestic worker for alleged ill-treatment or neglect by a person in charge of a child or young person. The crime squad from Tsuen Wan Police Station was following up.
