Iran attempted purchase of illegal nuclear technology 32 times: German agency
New intelligence raises questions about nuclear deal compliance
According to three Germany intelligence reports, Iran tried to obtain illicit technology for nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles on 32 separate occasions.
The new intelligence was disclosed ahead of Trump’s announcement Thursday on whether he will decertify the nuclear deal. The reports reveal that Iran made “32 procurement attempts … that definitely or with high likelihood were undertaken for the benefit of proliferation programs.”
The purchase attempts were made in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, according to the report.
