Is Bannon finally out?
Just as White House nationalist falls out of favor with Trump, he is thrust in spotlight amid racial tensions
Reports in recent days have revealed that President Trump has grown fed up with White House Chief Strategist Steven Bannon, citing sources close to the president. The news comes as Bannon has been called out by many in Washington, including Republicans, who feel that he has helped fuel a white supremecist movement that allegedly inspired a driver to plow into demonstrators, killing one, on Saturday.
Axios reported over the weekend that Trump told associates that he has been irritated by Bannon’s cooperation with a book by Bloomberg Businessweek’s Josh Green, the cover of which gave Bannon equal billing with Trump. The last time Bannon reportedly ran afoul with Trump followed the chief strategist’s Time magazine cover, which dubbed him “THE GREAT MANIPULATOR.”
John Kelly, the new White House chief of staff could finally be the figure to push out Bannon. Kelly has was reportedly “horrified” when he learned of a campaign to discredit National Security Advisor H R McMaster, spearheaded by the news outlet Breitbart, formerly run by Steve Bannon.
