Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son met with President-elect Donald Trump about investment and jobs in the US, reported the Asahi newspaper.

Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son will invest US$50 billion in the U.S. and create 50,000 jobs, according to a tweet from President-elect Donald Trump after the two met for 45 minutes at the Trump Tower on Tuesday, reported the Asahi newspaper.

Kyocera to acquire UK office services business Annodata

Japan’s Kyocera will acquire UK office services company Annodata for about 10 billion yen ($87.7 million), the Nikkei newspaper reported. Annodata handles office network maintenance and print services.

LDP expels members for supporting Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike

The Liberal Democratic Party’s Tokyo branch expelled seven members of the ward assembly Tuesday for supporting Yuriko Koike in the election for governor of  Tokyo, according to the Yomiuri newspaper. Koike won the election despite the lack of support from the ruling LDP.
