Judge approves detention to facilitate militant funding investigation
A Kashmiri business man who was arrested over his alleged involvement in a terror funding case was placed in National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody for 10 days on Friday, according to media sources.
A statement from the NIA said, “Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali remanded to 10 days of police custody.”
Watali was arrested by NIA on Thursday in connection with the funding of terrorist and separatist organizations in Jammu and Kashmir.
PTI reported that District Judge Poonam A Bamba approved the agency’s request for custody after it said that they needed to take him to various places for investigative purposes and question him about evidence collected.
