Kindergarten director arrested for secretly filming women
The Hong Kong man was found to have about 200 video clips involving at least 50 victims, filmed secretly in the kindergarten toilets and at his home
A 36-year-old man who is a director of a kindergarten in Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong’s New Territories was arrested by police after he was found to have secretly filmed about 50 women, including kindergarten teachers and students’ parents when they were using the toilet or having a shower.
Police arrested the man surname Ma in a luxury apartment in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon on Friday for alleged “access to a computer with criminal or dishonest intent”. They also confiscated his computer, Apple Daily reported.
It is understood that a 29-year-old woman reported to the police that she found video clips on Ma’s computer which involved secret filming.
Investigations have discovered approximately 200 video clips involving at least 50 victims. They included kindergarten teachers, students’ parents and elderly women. The videos were filmed in the bathroom of his apartment and in the toilets at the kindergarten.
The videos did not involve any children, Sing Tao Daily reported, citing police sources.
It is understood that as the director of Joyful World International Nursery & Kindergarten (Belvedere Campus), Ma would organize activities for teachers such as playing badminton on Saturdays, and would also host gatherings at his home. Some teachers would take a shower at Ma’s home after the activities.
Police have announced that the suspect has been released on bail and that investigations are ongoing.
