Korean man shot dead in Cebu
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was found dead in a hallway of a motel
A 20-year-old Korean national died after being shot multiple times inside a motel in Cebu in the Philippines on Sunday. At 6:20pm, Young Ho Lee suffered eight gunshot wounds to his head, body and hands in a hallway of a motel in Cebu City.
Police said they were pursuing two persons of interest, both Filipinos, in Lee’s death, the Manila Bulletin reported.
According to Janelito Marquez, deputy chief of the Mabolo Police Station, two men on motorcycles with female passengers left the motel after the shooting.
Police said drug-sniffing paraphernalia and a receipt from a transaction with a man in Consolacion, a town in Cebu province, were found in Lee’s room.
Marquez said that during their investigation, it was discovered that the man in Consolacion was a suspected drug pusher. The motive for the shooting was believed to be personal grudges.
“According to a witness, the victim kept on saying sorry before he was shot. It’s possible that the victim had done something wrong or it could be that unsettled debt was the motive of the killing,” Marquez said.
