Life: German brands lead imports at Seoul Motor Show as makers rely less on models – female ones

There are racing models, and then there are racing models. Both genres are less visible at this week’s Seoul Motor Show than in previous years.
“Racing models,” a marketing manager carefully explains, are the young women in tight thigh-high dresses who drape themselves over glittering new cars as the focal points of some, not all, the 32 motor vehicle manufacturers showing off their products. They’re not to be confused with real racing models, the high-powered sporty numbers that some manufacturers love to show off just to prove they can make them even if they don’t have too many or even any buyers.Read more
