Lifestyle: Song Joong-ki’s coming but where’s Hye-kyo?
It has been confirmed that “Descendants of the Sun” star and the most-popular South Korean actor Song Joong-ki will be attending the Seoul Drama Awards 2016 ceremony along with Shin Min-ah.
Through the super-hit military-romance drama that was telecast earlier this year, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo attained international fame. Even today, months after the drama ended, Song Joong-ki remains the most-searched Hallyu star on Google (read more on this here).
Hence, it is not a surprise that Song Joong-ki has been invited to the awards function. For Shin Min-ah, too, this year has been successful.
Her role in “Oh My Venus” transformed Shin Min-ah, thanks to her special makeup and character.
Organized by SDA and the Korean Broadcasters Association, the event brings together and recognizes leading figures in the global TV drama industry. This year’s ceremony is expected to highlight 265 productions from over 50 countries, Korea Herald reported.
“Our hope is that this event, which invites drama lovers from all over the world to share the value of TV dramas, will further raise the global profile of the Korean drama industry,” said the SDA Organizing Committee in a statement.
The awards ceremony has been scheduled for September 8 at the KBS Hall in Yeouido. Red carpet will start at 4 pm and be followed by the awards ceremony at 5:30.
Japanese actress Fujii Mina, Taiwanese model-actor Jasper Liu and American actor Sean Dulake, among others, will also be attending the awards ceremony. But where’s Song Hye-kyo?
