A young Filipino domestic worker was praised by her employer’s family for learning Chinese cooking quickly. Liezel, 23, who works in Sai Wan Ho on Hong Kong Island, helps her employer by preparing the ingredients for their family get-together every Wednesday evening, reported sunwebhk.com, a news portal for Filipinos in Hong Kong.
Liezel said her employer usually came home early on Wednesdays to cook the dishes. But ahead of a recent get-together, the employer called and told the maid that she would be home late and could not do the cooking in time. The employer told Liezel how to cook the dishes and prepare the food.
Liezel was hesitant at first, but she was able to accomplish the mission, as she had observed her employer’s cooking for several months.
The family praised Liezel’s cooking and were impressed that she could have learned Chinese cooking quickly. The employer said Liezel was smart and might help cook again in the future.
The maid is considering renewing her contract with her current employer as she is happy in her position.
