Maid arrested for allegedly stealing cash from employer
A woman told police that HK$200,000 in cash she had left in her apartment had gone missing and shortly after police arrested an Indonesian maid
A 42-year-old Indonesian maid has been arrested for allegedly stealing HK$200,000 (US$25,489) at her employer’s home in Mid-Levels on Hong Kong Island on Monday.
At about 11:30am, a 96-year-old woman called police and told them she discovered her apartment on Parkway Court on Park Road had been ransacked, Oriental Daily reported. She reported HK$200,000 in cash was missing from the apartment.
Police arrived and after an initial investigation arrested an Indonesian domestic worker for alleged theft and took her to the police station for questioning. Officers were trying to track down the missing money, Sky Post reported. The Crime investigation unit from Central District Police Station is following up.
