Man with a knife arrested at Prince Edward MTR station

Passengers report the incident to staff, who board the train at Tsim Sha Tsui and tell the suspect to exit at next stop

A man who was seen holding a knife in a passenger train was arrested in the Prince Edward MTR station on Tuesday evening for possession of an offensive weapon.

At 7:50pm, the man was seen carrying a knife on a train on the Tsuen Wan line heading toward Tsuen Wan, Sing Pao reported.

Some passengers reported the case to MTR staff, who got onto the train at Tsim Sha Tsui station, Oriental Daily reported. The man was then told to leave the train at Prince Edward station, where police officers were waiting for him.

The man was arrested and no one was injured. The police did not disclose either the nationality or other details about the suspect.
