Man held after fatal attack on Filipina girlfriend in Japan
The accused, a Filipino, admitted to stabbing his girlfriend, but denied trying to kill her
A Filipino man was arrested for stabbing his Filipina girlfriend to death in her home in Hamura City, Tokyo.
On the evening of July 9, Alex Montefalcone Okuzumi, 30, arrived at his 26-year-old girlfriend’s house and used a knife to attack her arms and legs, Tokyo Reporter reported.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to hospital for treatment, only to die two days later from the injuries sustained in the attack.
On July 10, Akuzumi was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. According to the police, Okuzumi admitted to stabbing his girlfriend, but denied that he intended to kill her.
Police investigations are ongoing.
