Man jumps to death after stabbing live-in lover
Police suspected that the couple quarrelled when Leung accused Ho of having an affair with another woman
A 54-year-old man fell to his death in Sham Shui Po in Kowloon after he allegedly killed his live-in lover with a knife on Wednesday.
Just before 1pm a security guard at Fu Cheong Estate in Sham Shui Po heard a loud bang and found a man, surnamed Ho, lying unconscious on the platform of Fu Ying House, who died shortly after, Ta Kung Pao reported.
Within a few minutes, a 50-year-old woman surnamed Leung was found unconscious on her bed covered in blood in a flat in Fu Ying House by her 23-year-old son. She was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
It was understood that Ho and Leung lived together for more than 10 years but did not get married. Leung’s daughter, 27, and her son with her ex-husband also lived in the same flat.
Sham Shui Po assistant district commander Chan Po-lun said the woman had five stab wounds, four on the left side of her chest and one on the right. She had also been strangled.
Chan said a 30-centimeter-long knife was found beside Leung, and the wounds on her body matched the knife, Sing Tao Daily reported.
Police suspected that the couple quarreled when Leung accused Ho of having an affair with another woman.
Leung’s son was supposed to work that day but he took sick leave as he had a cold. But he reportedly took pills and was sleeping in his room and did not hear any noise in other rooms.
Police classed the case as murder and suicide.
