More than 120 baby cobras and two adult cobras were found in a laborer’s house in Bhadrak district in Odisha in eastern India.
Bijay Bhuyan called the Snake Helpline on Sunday after discovering the snakes in his house. A team arrived and found 20 of the baby cobras but could not find the adult cobras, India Today reported.
The next day, the team returned to the house for another search for the other snakes. After five hours of searching, the team found 106 baby cobras and two adult cobras. The snakes were in a termite mound in the house.
According to Amlan Nayak, a divisional forest officer in Bhadrak, the baby cobras were a few days old while the adult cobras were more than 2 meters long. Fortunately, no one was bitten by the snakes.
Nayak said the snakes would be released to the Hadagarh Wildlife Sanctuary, away from human habitation.
