More than 16,000 jobs offered for Filipinos in homeland
A weekend job fair offered employment opportunities under the government's Build Build Build infrastructure program
More than 16,000 jobs in the construction sector have been offered to Filipinos by the Philippine government. On Sunday at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, the Build Build Build job fair organized by the government offered 16,843 employment vacancies in construction, GMA News reported.
One job seeker, Felixberto Olasiman, said he was a returning overseas Filipino worker and wanted to find a job in the Philippines as he did not want to go back to the Middle East. Samuel Magada, 63, said he wanted to get a job as prices were increasing and he did not want to rely solely on his children to support him.
Arthur Tugade, secretary of the Department of Transportation, told a news conference that the government expected to generate around 2 million jobs through its Build Build Build program.
The Build Build Build program is a government project to build numerous infrastructures in the country that will help improve transportation as well as provide job opportunities to Filipinos.
