Movies, pork and beef: Xi’s gifts to Trump
The trade concessions are part of gift basket brought to Florida, to be negotiated within 100 days of last week's Trump-Xi summit
China is set to allow more Hollywood movies into Chinese theaters and to increase soybeen, pork and beef imports from the US, according to the South China Morning Post.
Already on the rise, more Chinese imports of oil and natural gas are also reportedly on the table.
Mei Xinyu, a researcher at a Ministry of Commerce affiliated think tank said that the agricultural product concessions were targeted at Trump’s base of support, many of which he noted were from agricultural states.
