Naked man, 19, falls to his death in Sai Kung
Police later found his clothes and a small amount of suspected cannabis buds on the roof of the shopping center carpark, but there was no suicide note
A naked 19-year-old man jumped to his death from a shopping center in Sai Kung in the New Territories on Thursday.
At 7am a female cleaner surnamed Lai walked past Fui Yui Lane in Sai Kung and found a man lying under the brushes, Sing Tao Daily reported. But she did not call police, as she thought the man was drunk.
At 1pm, the cleaner went out for lunch and found the man was still there, so she called the police. Paramedics arrived and found that the naked man was dead.
Police later found his clothes and a small amount of suspected cannabis buds on the rooftop of the shopping center’s carpark. But no suicide note was found.
Police checked surveillance camera footage and found that the man had wandered into the mall at 11pm on Wednesday and went to the carpark. His clothes were on at that time but he walked unsteadily.
The actual cause of death will be determined after an autopsy but officers did not rule out the possibility that he took off his clothes and jumped from the roof after taking illegal drugs, Oriental Daily reported.
