New China services output index rose 8.2% in first two months of year

China has introduced a new indicator for the country’s service sector, which now accounts for more than half of the economy

In order to provide a better gauge of China’s booming service sector, the National Bureau of Statistics has begun calculating a new services output index, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. NBS released the first index Tuesday, showing 8.2% growth in the sector for January and February.
