New ramjet engine could triple range of Chinese missiles
Stealth fighters like the US F-35 have something to worry about
Popular Science reports that China’s developing a hypersonic weapon that has triple the range of existing Chinese air-to-air missiles. The new missiles rely on a ramjet engine that may have a speed of at least Mach 5, or 3,835 miles per hour.
All this could mean greater range, maneuverability, and speed for missiles that are being mounted on Chinese stealth fighters like the J-20 and J-31.
