New US home sales jump to 10-year high
19% month-on-month gain was steepest since 1992
New home sales in the US jumped by 19% month on month to a 667,000 annual rate, the best since October 2007. The monthly gain was biggest since 1992. That’s another signal of strength for the US economy.
While the number was probably boosted by increased demand throughout the South following hurricanes, sales were strong in other parts of the country, according to Bloomberg.
