Nissan to sell battery unit to China’s GSR Capital
Deal will total US$1 billion, source says
Nissan Motor company has agreed to sell its electric battery business to Chinese investment firm GSR Capital, Reuters reports.
Under the deal, Nissan will first buy the minority stake held by NEC, after which GSR will pay US$1 billion in total to acquire the unit, according to a person with direct knowledge.
The business includes manufacturing facilities in the US, England and Japan.
