No video found backing charge of filming naked kids in bath
Hong Kong police are asking Facebook to provide the relevant video, and the maid who allegedly posted it has been granted bail
A 28-year-old Indonesian domestic worker was charged at Eastern District Magistrates’ Court in Hong Kong on Thursday with one count of distribution of children pornography.
However, the case was adjourned until March as prosecutors were unable to produce the video the maid allegedly shot of three naked children in a bath and posted on social media last year.
The defendant, Yuni Kristiani, was granted cash bail of HK$1,500 (US$191) and required to report to the Wan Chai Police Station every day, Sing Pao reported.
The case came to light last December 1 when a 17-minute video allegedly appeared of the defendant bathing three children – two boys and a girl aged between six and eight – in an apartment in City Garden, a private housing estate in Hong Kong Island’s North Point.
Prosecutors told the court on Thursday that police officers could not find the video on the defendant’s mobile phone or any other video that showed the scene in question.
Police are now asking Facebook to provide the relevant video, as it was uploaded on the social-media platform but taken down afterward.
The trial was adjourned until March 1 pending further investigation.
