North Korea accuses US, South Korea of assassination try
Authorities warned they will “ferret out and mercilessly destroy” those responsible for botched attempt
North Korea on Friday accused the US and South Korean intelligence agencies of making a botched assassination attempt on Kim Jong-un in 2014 using biochemical weapons.
North Korea’s Ministry of State Security said in a statement referring to the incident that it will “ferret out and mercilessly destroy” the “terrorists” in the US and South Korean spy agencies that were responsible for targeting its Supreme Leader.
The ministry alleged that Washington and Seoul bribed a North Korean citizen who was working in Russia to carry out the failed assassination attempt after returning home.
