Hong Kong police have arrested a 49-year-old man who was captured by a car dashboard camera waving a knife and a martial-arts fighting stick in an open area in Tsing Yi, New Territories, on Tuesday night.
The suspect, who lived in an apartment of Hong Mei House in Cheung Hong Estate in Tsing Yi, was allegedly seen waving a 56-centimeter-long knife and a fighting stick used in Arnis, a Philippine martial art, in an open area of the estate at 10pm, Oriental Daily reported.
As some workers walked past the suspect, he suddenly rushed at them, scolded them and threatened them by waving the knife and the stick in the air.
The workers immediately hopped into a car parked nearby and called the police.
A 58-second-video from the car’s dashboard camera captured the man, who had short blond hair and wore a black jacket and shorts, running around in the open area and waving the weapons.
Police arrested the suspect in his home, where they allegedly found a knife and a fighting stick.
