A Hong Kong man and a Filipino man linked to a March 30 burglary that was caught on closed-circuit TV have been arrested following a special police operation.

At 3.20pm on Thursday, a 49-year-old woman surnamed Tsang reported that a total of HK$7,000 (US$900) worth of gold jewelry had been taken during a break-in at her residence at 18A Whampoa Street in Hung Hom, Oriental Daily reported.

Following inspection of video surveillance footage, two burglars were identified by police.

At 6pm on Saturday, the two suspects, a 43-year-old Hong Kong man surnamed Leung and a 40-year-old unnamed Filipino man, were arrested on Whampoa Street and Cooke Street respectively by police from Hung Hom division.

Kowloon City District police are investigating whether the two men are connected to a recent string of burglary cases in the Hung Hom area, according to Apple Daily.

Late Sunday night, Leung was escorted by police to his residence in Hing Fuk House on the Kwai Hing Estate in Kwai Chung to search for evidence.
