Police find Indonesian maid’s bag after three-hour search
Taiwanese constable eventually tracks down the lost handbag in a Zuoying hospital and nothing had been taken
A 43-year-old Indonesian domestic worker who lost her handbag in a hospital earlier this month managed to get it back with police help in Zuoying district in southern Taiwan.
On March 6, a Taiwanese woman called police to report that her maid had lost a leather handbag in the Zuoying branch of the Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital, the Taiwan Times reported on Monday, citing police information.
The domestic worker was very concerned about losing her handbag as it had her stay permit, health card and NT$3,600 (US$123) in cash inside. At first she thought the bag had been stolen, but that turned out not to be the case.
A police constable eventually found the handbag after three hours of searching closed circuit television footage and looking in the rooms the maid had been in. The maid then recalled leaving her bag in a waiting area on the first floor of the building.
The bag was then found and none of the contents were missing. The domestic worker, who had gone to the hospital to take care of her employer’s father, said she was grateful for the efforts police made in locating the bag.
