Police hunt four men after security injured with knife
The security guard attempted to mediate but he was scolded and pushed by the suspects
A 43-year-old security guard of Filipino origin suffered a knife wound in an altercation with four drunk men on Friday. The four suspects wanted to continue drinking at a pub on Hart Avenue in Kowloon’s Tsim Sha Tsui area at 5am, but the establishment was about to close for the night and staff refused to let them in, Oriental Daily reported.
The four men were furious and insisted on going into the pub. After a quarrel started, the security guard attempted to mediate but he was scolded and pushed by the men.
It was understood that one of the suspects suddenly wielded a 15-centimeter-long knife and injured a finger of the security guard’s left hand.
Staff at the pub called the police but the suspects had fled before officers arrived.
The security guard was sent to hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating surveillance-camera footage and have classified the case as assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
